Cressi Alpha Ultra Dry Snorkel Set
Tempered glass mask with easy-adjust buckles, dry-top snorkel and open-heel fins. Best entry-level kit for Maldives reef snorkelling.
GoPro Hero 13 Black
Waterproof to 33 ft without a case. HyperSmooth 6.0 stabilisation handles surge currents at reef edges. Standard for Maldives dive video.
Mares X-Vision Mask
Ultra-wide frameless lens, single-window design, low internal volume. Excellent for Maldives blue-water dive viz where peripheral view matters.
Scubapro Everflex 3mm Wetsuit
3mm neoprene is the Maldives sweet spot — warm enough for early morning dives, cool enough for surface intervals at 30°C air temp.
Cressi Frog Plus Open-Heel Fins
Rigid blade with good thrust for drift diving. Open-heel design works with booties — essential for Maldives channel dive currents.
Apeks MTX-R Regulator
Balanced diaphragm first stage, cold-water rated, DIN or A-clamp. Reliable in Maldives thermoclines where temp can drop 8°C between layers.
Suunto D5 Dive Computer
Full-colour display, air/nitrox modes, Bluetooth sync to Suunto app. Good screen readability in Maldives deep-blue visibility.
Reef-Safe Sunscreen SPF 50
Mineral-only sunscreen (zinc oxide). Maldives resort policy — chemical sunscreens (oxybenzone) are banned at most properties to protect coral.
Sea Eagle 330 Inflatable Kayak
Lightweight and packable — fits in overhead luggage. Good for lagoon exploration from guesthouses where resort kayaks aren't available.
Renting vs. buying for Maldives
Most Maldives resorts rent basic snorkel sets and BCD/regulator combos for USD 15–30/day. If you dive fewer than 10 times per year, rental makes sense for bulky items (BCD, wetsuit). But bringing your own mask, fins and dive computer pays off after 2–3 trips — hire gear often fits poorly and degrades quickly in saltwater. Reef-safe sunscreen is non-negotiable: bring your own, as resort stocks are limited and expensive.
